Why do you use sourdough starter?

1. Treats become easy to digest:
The low pH and long fermentation time of sourdough starter allow nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins) to get a "head start" on digestion by partially breaking them down into smaller units.
2. Better absorption of minerals:
Rye flour is a source of minerals (such as iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium) but these can be locked up in a compound called phytate complex. Our sourdough starter is made with rye flour, and its fermentation activity breaks down the phytate complex which increases the minerals' bioavailability.

What is the texture of your treats?

Our treats are crunchy but not hard/dense. They have an airy texture inside.

How long is the shelf life of the treats?

A lab is currently conducting real time shelf life tests of our treats, so we will update as the results come in.
As of now, it has passed the first test point of 5 months. The specific "best by" dates are printed on every treat package.

Do your treats taste sour?

No they don't taste sour, in fact they taste nutty!

Can humans eat the treats too?

Yes! Out of all the flavors, Go Bananas taste the best in our opinion :)

When will my package arrive?

After orders are fulfilled within 3-5 business days, you'll receive an email with tracking information so that you can track your package on the carrier's website.

Do my reward points expire?

Nope, they never expire!

Can I place wholesale order for my store?

Yes we are planning to do wholesale soon and will likely launch our wholesale program in Q4 2024 on Faire.

Are your treats available to purchase outside the US?

At this time, SourDog treats are only available in the US. But we are looking into Canada as the next region to expand shipping!
